Tradiční středně rychlý černobílý film, ILFORD FP4 PLUS nabízí jemnozrnnou strukturu s vysokou ostrostí a akutancí, díky čemuž je vhodný pro zvětšování a skenování. Má nominální citlivost ISO 125/22° ve standardní chemii a jeho velmi široká expoziční latitude umožňuje expozici až o dva stupně pod nebo šest stupňů nad, přičemž si zachovává použitelné výsledky.

Díky tomu je FP4 PLUS vysoce schopný film pro většinu fotografických námětů a světelných podmínek, jako jsou portréty, móda, street, produktová fotografie, krajina a architektura.
