2023年12月、HARMANは初のカラーフィルム Phoenix 200を、英国モーバリーの自社工場で完全に製造して発売しました。約束どおり、HARMANチームはそれ以来、コミュニティからのフィードバックを収集し、カラーフィルムの配合をさらに開発・最適化してきました。
そして今、 HARMAN Phoenix II 35mm が登場します。各層と各コンポーネントは再設計・再構築され、新しい染料、カプラー、層構造を採用。その結果、粒子は著しく微細化し、色再現性が向上、コントラストは制御され、シャープネスが増し、ダイナミックレンジも拡大しました。これにより、Phoenix IIは撮影が容易になり、スキャンも簡単になりました。
Shot the whole roll on a grey afternoon and the colors still popped with that warm, slightly retro feel I was hoping for. Grain is noticeable but pleasing, not mushy, and it pushed shadows really nicely at box speed. Loved that it's made in the UK too, gives the whole roll a bit of character.
The skin tones came out with a lovely warm cast, and the grain is present but not overpowering—exactly what I wanted for moody autumn street shots. Knowing it’s made entirely in the UK factory adds a nice touch, and the colors feel genuinely distinct from the usual mass-produced stocks.
