Velen van ons herinneren zich hoe we in onze buurt bij Hollywood Video-winkels naar onze favoriete films zochten, waarvan het logo verwees naar een van de meest iconische borden ter wereld, het Hollywood-bord. Het bord werd voor het eerst verlicht in 1923 als Hollywoodland, als reclamebord voor een vastgoedontwikkeling. In 1949, na enige restauratie, werd het het meest herkenbare monument van Los Angeles. Hetbord nadert 100 jaar roem en staat nog steeds als een van de grootste borden ter wereld.
