Rollei was founded in 1920 and is known for its top-of-the-line Rolleiflex and Rolleicord medium-format cameras. No longer producing cameras, MACO is now the licensee of the Rollei brand products, that includes a line of black and white films. Rollei’s films range from 25 ISO panchromatic fine-grained film to other film types like the near-infrared 400 ISO and the ultra-sharp Ortho Plus 25 ISO orthochromatic.

Rollei INFRARED is a hyper-panchromatic black and white film with a nominal sensitivity of ISO 200-400 up into the infrared range (650 – 750nm). When used with an infrared filter, the characteristic "infrared" look can be achieved, making it ideal for scientific applications or highly creative landscape photography.

Without an infrared filter, it acts like an ordinary, high-sensitivity black and white film with high resolving power, fine grain, and high edge sharpness. It is coated onto a clear PET film base, which makes it also makes it very suitable for developing as a slide using the appropriate chemistry.

Finally got some rolls in for my medium format kit and the infrared sensitivity is exactly what I needed for those dreamy landscapes. The 120 size fits perfectly and the grain structure is gorgeous when developed, even at box speed. Won't be my last order.

Shooting at f/8 with the red filter I got that classic IR glow on foliage without any halation issues, even on a bright afternoon. The 120 roll curled a bit in the tank but the negatives came out perfectly flat after drying. Already ordered two more rolls for my Rolleicord.

Bought a roll for my medium format camera and the infrared sensitivity is exactly what I hoped for—those classic black and white tones really pop. The 120 size loaded fine and the film base feels sturdy enough for a long shoot. I’m already planning my next roll for some landscape work.
