Few things in analog photography are more beautiful than a backlit slide. Introducing the ADOX Scala Reversal Kit, the latest innovation in at-home B&W reversal processing.

The kit radically simplifies the B&W reversal process, featuring just two parts and an optional clear bath. Simply mix the Developer and Bleach 1+1 with water, and get going!

One of the major innovations to the historical ADOX Scala Process is the complete avoidance of dichromates and other corrosives. This makes it the only B&W reversal kit which can be shipped worldwide. Another major R&D achievement is the very stable liquid bleach. Opened, undiluted bleach stays good for up to 16 weeks. In diluted form it can be stored for up to 8 weeks.

The kit can reverse ANY B&W film, but only films with elevated silver content and a clear base will create truly beautiful slides. Most films have a grayish base, which means the highlights of the slides will not be very brilliant. The kit has been tailored to work perfectly with ADOX SCALA films, and ADOX CMS 20 II looks great when reversed too. The first developing time for ADOX CMS 20 II is 12 Minutes at 24°C.

This product is classified as "Limited Quantity Hazardous" and can only be shipped via Ground within the Continental United States due to DOT regulations. "Limited Quantity Hazardous" items cannot be shipped to PO boxes.

The second bath cleared my highlights with zero hesitation, and the slides came out with that crisp backlit pop you chase for ages. I’d heard reversal kits were finicky, but this one walked me through each step like a friend who’s done it a hundred times.

Finally, a kit that actually makes reversal processing at home feel achievable - the chemicals come pre-measured and the steps are clearly organized so I wasn't second-guessing myself mid-bath. First roll came out with crisp, backlit slides that honestly look like they came from a lab, not my bathro

The instructions were surprisingly straightforward, and the first bath did exactly what it promised—I got clear, dense positives that hold up on the light table. Being able to finish a full roll in about an hour without any guesswork is a game changer for my weekend darkroom sessions.
